WAVERLY, Ohio – About 40 Restoration Services, Inc. (RSI) employees and their family members took part in the company’s Environmental Day on Saturday, June 10, at the Walnut Street Park in Waverly, Ohio.
Those participating beautified the park and made it safer for adults and children alike with a range of activities. The skate park was painted to remove graffiti, mulch was added to the bases of large trees and weeds were removed from play areas, among other efforts.
This is the second consecutive year RSI has performed beautification efforts at Walnut Street Park. RSI Program Director Greg Wilkett said this is one of the ways the company makes a contribution to the local community.
“This is a beautiful park and we like doing our part to improve it each year,” Wilkett said. “RSI believes in making a positive impact to the area in which we work, and this is just one of the ways we do that.”
RSI is also a contributor to the Jasper Elementary Open House each August where school supplies and other items are donated to students. The company sponsors the 2017 SamJam Bluegrass Festival in Piketon over Labor Day weekend and also supports the Waverly YMCA, among other contributions.
RSI, which was recognized as the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Small Business of the Year in May, is the Environmental Technical Services contractor for DOE at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon.
