RSI Awarded DOE’s Small Business of the Year for 2016

OAK RIDGE, May 17, 2017 - Restoration Services, Inc. (RSI) has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as the Fiscal Year 2016 Small Business of the Year. This award was presented at DOE’s 17th Annual Small Business Forum & Expo to recognize the creative, unique, and extraordinary performance of a small business which has significantly and directly impacted core DOE mission objectives and requirements. Paul Clay, RSI President, and Greg Wilkett, Program Director, were in Kansas City to accept this honor.

RSI is a prime contractor to furnish environmental technical services (ETS) to support the DOE Environmental Management cleanup mission at the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon, Ohio where the DOE has consistently rated RSI’s performance as excellent. The RSI Team at Portsmouth recently passed 8 years and over a million hours of work without an injury. RSI also is an integrated team subcontractor to URS|CH2M Oak Ridge LLC (UCOR) for the environmental cleanup of the DOE East Tennessee Technology Park in Oak Ridge, Tennessee where RSI performs facility and environmental characterization, regulatory planning, and long-term stewardship.

RSI President Paul Clay was honored by the award saying, “RSI’s is very excited about this award. The RSI ETS Team at Portsmouth led the way in demonstrating the characteristics that exemplify the efforts of all RSI employees at all locations for all of our customers.”

ASRC Industrial Services CEO Greg Johnson commented, “The employees at RSI are well deserving of this recognition. Their dedication to superior customer service, professionalism, and safety embody the values at AIS. We are proud to be part of the DOE complex.”

RSI places a high value on giving back to the local communities where their staff works and lives. As part of their commitment to environmental clean-up, RSI partners with the DOE for an annual Environmental Day, a beautification effort for the local communities around Portsmouth. “RSI not only plays a role in the environmental cleanup at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant, but also takes seriously its responsibilities as a community business. We believe we have an obligation to contribute to the area and this is one of the ways we do that,” said Greg Wilkett, RSI ETS Program Director.
