June 26, 2008, OAK RIDGE, TN - An Oak Ridge company has received a contract to provide support for cleaning projects at a nuclear facility near Portsmouth, Ohio.
Restoration Services Inc.'s contract with the U.S. Department of Energy has a potential value of $67 million over five years. RSI's team also includes two other small businesses, Haselwood Enterprises Inc. and Hill International.
The work will involve a range of environmental and technical services to support preliminary cleanup planning at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant - a 1950s-era uranium-enrichment plant that will be decommissioned and ultimately demolished.
According to a statement from DOE, a couple of similar contracts will be awarded in the next two years at the sprawling plant site in Ohio.
