Job Title:    Sr Hydrogeologist/Project Manager


RSI is actively seeking a talented and experienced Senior Level Environmental Geologist/Hydrogeologist with project management experience to oversee high-profile projects in a complex geological environment.  An experienced Hydrogeologist, or Engineer with a strong hydrogeology background, may be particularly suitable for this position.   The individual will lead a multidisciplinary team in the preparation of technical documentation such as CERCLA remedial investigation/feasibility studies, proposed plans, records of decisions and related documentation.  Experience in the design and interpretation of all aspects of contaminant transport and media monitoring within complex geological strata  is required.  Experience in the design and implementation of groundwater remediation projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Task management, project management and business development
  • Planning, implementation and/or supervision of a multidisciplinary team writing CERCLA work plans, remedial investigations, sampling and analysis plans,  feasibility studies, remediation design reports and other CERCLA reporting
  • Designing and implementation of sampling plans involving groundwater, surface water, soil and other monitoring
  •  Designing and monitoring remediation effectiveness for major remediation projects
  •  Supporting numerous soil and groundwater remediation projects that include planning and oversight of complex hydrogeological investigations and modeling activities
  •  Preparation of technical aspects of surface water and groundwater monitoring reports
  •  Providing technical guidance and direction to the project team and DOE customer
  •  Identification of specialty subcontractors and directing and supporting associated work
  •  Support the identification and procurement of specialty subcontractors

Qualifications

  •  Must have at a minimum a Master’s Degree in related earth science/environmental science field from an accredited school or equivalent, and 13+ years of experience in the responsibilities detailed
  •  Must have experience and knowledge of the Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR) and the Department of Energy (DOE)
  • Experience in design and implementation of groundwater remediation systems is perferred
  •  40 hour hazwoper training
  •  Proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary team
  •  Effective written and verbal communication skills
  •  Knowledge of EPA CERCLA document guidance
  • Experience in working with Federal Agencies, DOE preferred
  • Experience in working with State and Federal regulators
  • Ability to obtain a Q clearance
  • Self-motivated, requires limited direction
  • Practicing Professional Geologist (PG) preferred
