ETTP Focused Remedial Actions

RSI is performing focused remediation of soils and structures across the Oak Ridge Reservation (ORR) as a teaming subcontractor to BJC. This scope consists of 10 projects involving soil excavation, contaminated sediment and liquid removal from infrastructure, contaminated infrastructure removal, limited facility decontamination, facility equipment removal and removal of assorted surface debris and scrap. RSI also is providing labor; supervision/management; worker training (technical and informational); materials; supplies; environmental, safety, and health support; equipment; tools; personal protective equipment; and technical and professional services necessary to perform the remediation work. Specific activities include the following:

• Developing regulatory documents (remedial design report/remedial action work plan, waste handling plan, etc.);
• Obtaining all necessary permits to support work activities;
• Obtaining disposal facility approval for waste acceptance;
• Excavating, preparing, loading, securing, and placarding excavated waste;
• Designing and implementing remediation technologies;
• Managing, segregating, packaging, staging, and transferring all waste;
• Rubblizing earthen fill materials (e.g., concrete, brick, stone, block, masonry); and
• Backfilling/contouring and restoring disturbed sites to a configuration compliant with site requirements.
